Project 2: Vertical Moments of Light
For this project the goal was to create two, distinct moments of light. I chose my inspiration from a chapel designed by the architect Peter Zumthor, who was also my inspiration for my luminaire project last semester.
Papyrus Column
Project Board: Papyrus Column, Hypostyle Hall, Karnak (2/11/10)
This project combined knowledge from both our Suzanne and Judith's classes to provide a colorful composition that is both readable and creative. I chose the Papyrus column because Egyptian culture and their monumental, mystical architecture have always fascinated me.
Project 1: Ritual Object
This project was based on an phenomenon that I repeat everyday and is celebrated through a cared for design that represents it's function through a simplistic hierarchy and accessibility and an emotional impact of refreshing my day represented through a stylized version of blooming flowers.
